A first therapy session typically involves the you and I getting to know each other and discussing the reason for seeking therapy. I will ask more questions than typical sessions about the to learn about symptoms, personal and medical history, and current life circumstances. This is to understand you through the systems in your life. We can discuss your goals for therapy more in depth. We can discuss what modalities, structure, and frequency will also work best. My suggestion is to give therapy at least two-three sessions. As the first session can be more structured or even uncomfortable! You have every right to give me feedback about our sessions.
