Complex Trauma
Complex trauma isn’t just about what happened to you: it’s about how your mind and body adapted to stay safe when ongoing stress or unsafe relationships became your normal. You might notice this showing up as constant hyper-vigilance, difficulty trusting others, or a harsh internal critic that never gives you a break. These aren't personal flaws; they are protective parts of you that learned how to survive.
Through our therapeutic relationship, my steady, non-judgmental presence offers a source of co-regulation. Over time, your nervous system internalizes this shared calm, helping you build a genuine feeling of inner security. In our work together, we approach your healing through an Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic lens, and EMDR. With grounding in relational psychotherapy. Using IFS, we warmly welcome all parts of you, especially the protective ones that feel anxious or overwhelmed; so you can understand their roles without judgment. Through a somatic approach, we pay attention to how trauma is held physically in the body, helping your nervous system complete old stress responses and release stored tension at a pace that feels completely safe for you.
Complex trauma can be deeply rooted in relational wounds; where safety, trust, or care were broken in connection with others therefore some of our groundwork will be developing safety and trusting relationship. The dynamics that show up in your life: difficulty speaking up, fear of conflict, or anticipating rejection, will naturally surface in our sessions. We welcome these moments with gentle curiosity, using our space to practice healthy boundaries and clear communication in real time.
By integrating mind and body and the moment to moment interactions, we don't just process past pain; we help you restore a grounded sense of inner leadership, deep self-compassion, and lasting ease.
